Before coming to Lake Ridge Care Center, Harold Peltz lived on a dairy farm between Buffalo and Rockford, since 1962. While at home he suffered a back injury, which caused an infection. He was in a lot of pain and lost the ability to walk or get up on his own. He came to Lake Ridge to get the help he needed, and begin therapy.

August is National Wellness Month, and as social workers are a huge part of promoting emotional wellness at Cassia, we are featuring Moose Lake Village Director of Social Services Wendi Guyer. A recent letter from the husband of a resident shows some of the impact Wendi has on those we serve.
This detecting device adjusts the light level along several pathways if it senses that the room light is too low to prevent falls. It also learns a person’s activity patterns, using artificial intelligence, and alerts the system of any changes that might indicate that a fall is probable. Together these functions account for up to a 75% reduction in falls in residential care settings.
