The Face of Cassia

Grace Hospice Volunteer Mark True

Face Of Caring – April 2021

To celebrate National Volunteer Week (from April 18 through April 24) Cassia wants to introduce our Grace Hospice Volunteer Mark True. Mark joined Grace Hospice in 2015 and “his strong faith and quiet presence with our patients have been truly a Godsend,” says Executive Director Sarah Van Winkle. “All he provides cannot be put in words,” she adds. “Mark is an extraordinary person, who is in retirement chooses to spend quality time with those at the end of life.”

”Mark is the most thoughtful, kind, sincere giving man,” says Registered Nurse Case Manager Renee Kohler. She praises Mark’s smile, love and the companionship he provides to those who need him.

Mark shared some of his reasons with us about why he volunteers at Grace Hospice. “I’ve stayed because the teams of nurses, aides, social workers and chaplains show me the love of God never runs out. It doesn’t stop at the end of a shift. Every time I visit, I see good works being done that He prepared in advance for us to do. I enjoy serving with these heroes.”

Cassia is honored and inspired by volunteers like Mark True.
